implement / implementation ‘To implement’ is to carry out a policy - in other words, to put something into practice. So, it’s used especially with ‘rules’, ‘policies’, ‘strategies’ etc which are first agreed in theory and then need to be implemented so that people actually use or follow them. Only a few of the recommendations were ever implemented.
